In the winter of 2001, founding members, Steven Magee, Trent Smith, and Sam Alba got together to form a band. Steven and Trent grew up together playing in bands together periodically through middle/high school. Then a little known Bassist from California, Sam Alba arrived in Northern Kentucky. Through a mutual friend, Sam was introduced to Steven. The rest is history. Steven, Sam, and Trent started writing together as a band only a few days from the first time they had met. Creating a sound that is quite unique from the standard. Fusing all forms of rock music to create a new genre all in its own.
Frank "The Tank" Watkins, a lead guitarist was introduced to the band through mutual friends of Trent.
As Trent have left the band and Jon Lewis stepped behind the kit. fulcrumpoint was recreated from which it started at the very core. A 4 piece band that can rival any 6 piece. Through trials and tribulation fulcrumpoint has only became stronger. Steven Magee, Sam Alba, Frank Watkins and Jon Lewis now complete fulcrumpoint's lineup and is the strongest to date.
fulcrumpoint is often imitated, but never duplicated. The sounds of fulcrumpoint can go from an all out metal assault to a bittersweet melody all in the same moment. fulcrumpoint is all things rock; From heavy to melodic and everything in between. The highly versatile band can feel at home in almost in genre of rock music and beyond. Why be stuck in one form of music? Whoever said that you had to play only one style?

The members of fulcrumpoint have graced the stage of every great local venue and has played with such bands as Powerman 5000, MTV'S Mountain Dew Challenge Champions Tub Ring, Dog Fashion Disco, Bad Acid Trip,BOBAFLEX, 6 Sigma to name a few.
